How To Protect Folder Without Any Software In Windows

Create A Password Protected Folder Without Any Software In Windows 8.1/ 8/ 7

There are many methods that you can use to create a password protected folder for hiding your important files or folders from others, most of which require the use of some third party software. Using this simple method you can hide your folders with a quick batch script.

Note: if you are a beginner you should be careful with this batch script.

Now let’s start to create. Follow the below steps:

1. Open Notepad.

2. Open the New Text Document, now paste the following code into the New Text Document:

3. Change the password here text to the desired password you want to set.

4. I replace the password here text with softeclabs. So, my folder password is softeclabs.

Now Save As… the document  or press F12.

Save As the document  or press F12

5. A dialog box will appear named the file what ever you want with necessary .bat extension. And change the Save as type to All Files.

Name the file with .bat extension

6. Click Save.

Click Save

7. Once the file is saved as a batch file you can delete the original notepad New Text Document.

8. Double click on the locker.bat, your Private Protected Folder will appears. You can store your all private stuff in to this folder.

9. Now close the private folder by double clicking on the locker file again. A new window will appears.

Lock the folderPress Y and hit Enter to lock your Private Protected Folder and you will see that your Private folder quickly disappears.

10. Now when ever you again open this locker you will prompted for a password.

If you enter the same password as you set in the script the Private folder will reappear if you enter the incorrect password the script will just terminate.
